My name is Claire Antrobus and I am an independent arts professional with over twenty years experience of the UK cultural sector.
My current work focusses on two main areas: visual arts strategy and research and organisational/professional development in the wider cultural/ non-profit sector. This involves various services including consultancy, facilitation, coaching, training, mentoring and research. Current and recent clients include Arts Council England, Creative Scotland, British Council, Tate, ARTIST ROOMS, Hepworth Wakefield, Turner Contemporary, Focal Point Gallery, engage, The Tetley, Royal Opera House, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Mouthy Poets, Poetry School, Dancers’ Career Development Agency, Barbican Centre, University of Leeds, University of the Arts and various local authorities.
I love working in the field of art and culture because the arts make us think and challenge us constantly, open up new understanding and ways of seeing and allow us to express and celebrate who we are.
I particularly enjoy working with clients who share my values:
- passionate about the role of culture in wider society
- keen to learn and try new ways of working
- committed to enabling staff and volunteers to develop to their full potential
- committed to supporting artists, and
- ambitious about extending the reach of the arts.
